On the weekend of Oct 19-20 the NJ Lighthouse Society sponsored its third annual "NJ Lighthouse Challenge" where they invited people to visit all 11 of the lights remaining in the state. We decided this would be a fun activity to participate in with our new 2002 Aqua Prius. Over the two days we traveled 580 miles averaging 44.1 mpg while seeing all the lights. We reached that gas mileage despite making many stops, frequent high speed merging on the Garden State Parkway, and traveling on some busy roads with traffic lights. Throughout the long hours in the Prius proved to be a comfortable, peppy, fun car to drive!! |
